FILTER, Teaterladan Hultsfred 1995

It was right before or right after Filter released their first album that they played one of the smaller stages at Hultsfred. The place was less then half-full, the sun was still shining and it was the band for me to see that year. Since the audience was so small I got right up front in the middle by the fence. The band came out in a bad mood, you could tell right away, there was some serious tension in the air. Before the first cord the guitarist had pushed the bassplayer of the stage, the intro hits and that first guitar and it is LOUD. In the first song the singer and guitarist run into eachother hard, it is obvious the band have been fighting. But it just helps the show, and it is good, it is an amzing show, loud, violent and the small audience is loving it. The band members keep pushing eachother of the stage, throwing things at eachother and in general trying to hurt eachother. After 35 minutes the drummer has had enough, he stands up, grabs the bassdrum and throws it at the singer and leaves the stage. The bassplayer trashes the rest of the drumkit while the singer on unsteady legs gets up, pushes the guitarist of the stage and leaves.

Definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen.

Shortly after this the drummer leaves the band to join Smashing Pumpkins, the basplayer leaves soon after and guitarist is fired. All but the drummer comes back later and they record a second album that is horrible, opens for Counting Crowes and that is the end of their career.
